Athira Radhakrishnan

Athira has over 8 years of clinical experience in her home country of India and in the UK where she added a Masters degree in Advanced Professional Practice to her original physiotherapy degree. This was focussed on an evidence-based approach to patient care which Athira finds has greatly enhanced her knowledge and effective treatment of all her patients.

Over her eight years in practice Athira has worked in both the public and private sector and gained valuable experience across a wide range of patients and conditions-both musculoskeletal and neurological. She has extensive experience with children both for musculoskeletal issues such as injuries and pain as well as neurological conditions including learning disabilities, Neuro-Motor disorders, birth injuries and other congenital and acquired birth injuries.

She has also worked in adult neurology with stroke and Parkinson patients as well as after spinal cord and brain injuries. Athira’s experience across such a wide range of conditions means she brings a totally holistic approach to all her patients as the issues involving pain or dysfunction are similar whatever the cause so she can bring her wide range of experience, treatment theories and techniques to benefit all her patients.

In addition, Athira has a special interest in managing musculoskeletal conditions related to pregnancy and the postnatal period. She is also trained in dry needling and is currently expanding her expertise through certification as a Human Movement Specialist.

Outside of her professional work, Athira enjoys listening to music and craftwork.
